Pray for Paris

Friday 13th November. Such devastating news. None of us can ignore the terrible images we saw this weekend.

It is not enough to be shocked and to be upset about this tragedy when we have the skills to do something about it. Design is unbelievably powerful; we all have the ability to change perception and to make a difference.

As a poignant homage to the victims, many designers and illustrators have decided not to remain silent and have been answering to the attacks with drawings. Some of them are very well known, other are anonymous, but all have the same objective: keep hope alive; despite the pain Paris will stand against inhumanity and base deed. There has been an outcry in social media, this message has been shared and keep being shared so the world does not turn the page, forget and look away. Here are some of the illustrations that really touched us. 

Jean Jullien was one of the first who reacted to the attacks by posting a black and white drawing at 1am on Saturday. It immediately became an emblematic symbol that has been relayed on social media. It represents the Eiffel Tower in the middle of the 'peace and love' symbol drawn in black ink.
